Relationships and Languages: The same side of the same coin.

Whenever any two humans communicate, they are forming a distinct, individual language between them. This language is based on previous interactions between the participants, the successful and unsuccessful communication they’d had within those interactions, and their perceived success in conveying their intent to the other participant(s). […] Eventually, this language will come to be known as their “relationship.”

Sometimes you find a person who somehow already speaks the language you personally have created, your own “micro-language,” if you will. Through their own experiences, they have learned to communicate similarly to the way you do, which makes familiarity immediate. These languages can be formed through the re-use of an existing language, which will result in a language that results in a combination of their pre-existing languages.

But what if we were to replace the word “relationship” in every instance it occurs? I believe it would give us a more accurate representation into what a “relationship” actually is. For example: “Our language developed over a period of ten months. She reminded me of a woman from a past language so our communication felt very easy from the start.” […]
