why is She fighting to keep me

if She has already moved on?
She’s loosening the grasp
but i’m no longer pulling.
our gravity’s shifting now;
i was the one who said it
when our faces
were rough with salt.

but She loved me too much
to let Her love for anyone else
keep Her from me.

i can feel Her ache for Abandon
when She smiles at me and says
“i love you so much.”
She hopes the waves
have reached through Abandon’s wall
and we are both certain that they have.
