Information on the Public Record is archived in the Collective Memory over time. Articles and literature that are deemed unimportant are moved to the Collective Memory, and those deemed important will remain in the Public Record (until which point they are deemed unimportant). […]

“Importance” is decided by multiple factors, including: unique searches for the information, amount of time spent in the information, and outside references to the information. […] Information can be moved from the Collective Memory into the Public Record if it is deemed to be “Important” once more. This is very uncommon, however, as most users would do not care to access the Collective Memory, unless she or he is performing research. […] Compilers will often search through the Collective Memory when creating historical compilations or compilations that deal with historic events. […] Compilations contain excerpts from information in the Collective Memory that is related to a specific topic.
